1. Discipling the Generations: 12th November, Sheffield

Our annual Leaders Day this November is going to be focusing on the theme of ‘Discipling the Generations’.

Monday 12th November, 9.30am-4pm at St Thomas’ Church Philadelphia, part of Network Church Sheffield

We are excited that we have Matt Summerfield (Urban Saints), John and Joanne O’Connor, (Junction 42), Rich Atkinson (Rebuild) and Lynn Alexander (Children Families and God) joining us to help us think through how we both disciple different generations of people, as well as how we disciple all-generations of people together as one church.

This event is open to anyone and we have space for plenty of people so come along with your colleagues, teams and friends!  Tickets are now available at www.buytickets.at/kx and we hope to see you there.

  2. New Coaching Webinars coming in 2018

In partnership with Elim training we are pleased to announce the launch of a series of three training webinars across 2018 for church leaders wanting to develop missional discipleship in their church.

These webinars have been designed to help church leaders to train their key leaders and teams in developing the missional, discipleship and leadership culture in their churches. Participants are invited to gather a team in their local setting on these 3 Saturday mornings in 2018 to watch and participate in the webinar. Included in the cost is a place for the Senior Leader in an 8 session online Coaching Huddle with an experienced Kx practitioner, which will help you to embed the principles you learn into your local setting.

Church leaders are encouraged to then work out how to to apply and process the training content in a way that makes best sense for your local context.

Places are limited and are at a cost of £310* per church for the full 12 months. If you would like to find out more email [email protected]

The Webinars will take place over Zoom (free to download and use) and will run from 9:30am – 12:30pm on Saturdays 20th January, 19th May and 29th September on the following 3 themes.

    1 ‘Missional culture’ 20th January

Learn how to use the disciple-makers journey tool to help your members identify people of peace and invite them on a journey of discipleship. Gain understanding of how to help your small groups identity their missional focus and vision and find tools to sharpen your own practice as a missionary.

    2 ‘Discipleship culture’ 19th May

You will learn how to help all your members become learners, disciples. You will discover the four discipleship spaces and how to apply them to your small groups.

    3 ‘Leadership culture’ 29th September

You will grow in experience of the most effective leadership disciple making tools. You will begin to grow your leadership pipeline.

We highly recommend the training takes place in a location which has a reliable internet connection, and where participants can comfortably see the screen.

To register your interest please email us on [email protected]

    *Cost breakdown:
Webinars – £50 per church team (one screen) per webinar = total of £150 for the year

  3. Living on the Frontline

One of the things the Kairos Connexion development team are up to is creating tools and new forms of training to help churches become able to live as the church was always intended to be – full of power and authority, vibrant communities, sharing the good news of Jesus to those we find ourselves living and working amongst. Over the next year we will be offering those to the Kx family and beyond.

One of the first of those is a new and updated edition of Nic Harding’s book on spiritual warfare entitled ‘Living on the Frontline: A beginner’s guide to spiritual warfare.’

‘This second expanded edition of Living on the Frontline incorporates further teaching on prayer and the use of corporate weapons of warfare. This beginner’s guide to spiritual warfare is essential for any Christian who wants to work together with Jesus and his church to ultimately deliver the deathblow to the enemy. This updated edition of Living on the Frontline was developed in response to an unprecedented level of attacks on key leaders and churches, especially in the areas of false accusation, marriage pressures, illness and premature death. It will help to equip individual Christians and churches to defend themselves more effectively and enforce the victory of the cross in their situations.’

The book will be available to buy at the official launch at our Leaders Day on Wednesday 22nd November or you can order it from Amazon here.  We highly recommend it to you!

  4. Training at the Frontier in Tunbridge Wells

One of the training options that we offer to churches is our Learning Communities.  These are generally 4 immersions spaced out over 2 years and are an intensive way of getting teaching, process time and strategic planning for church leaders and their teams. The Tunbridge Wells Learning Community have just finished their 3rd immersion and Sean Dooley sent us this story about how they’ve been raising other leaders up to run LCs themselves.

“One of the great things about the Tunbridge Wells LC is that it has been the vehicle for Frontier Leader Training. We are clearly modelling to all the participants on the LC the taking of LC leaders around the discipleship square (see diagram). We deliberately point out to the participants on the LC that, for example, ‘Andy Strajnic is now doing L3 as a LC leader on this third immersion. Please encourage and support him.’

We call it Frontier Leader Training because we are taking a select group of people who have not only internalised missional discipleship, but are living it and have the anointing to coach others in it. Our hope is that they will be the guys that will develop missional discipleship training for other church leaders in their relational networks, using the 3DM material. In other words, that they would be leaders on the frontier of training church leaders in mission and discipleship. In turn doing what I have done with them – training other Frontier Leaders. In fact, Phil Stokes is doing that as I write!

I spoke to Paul Maconochie (Director of 3DM USA) recently and he reminded me that getting a movement going requires doing the same things, in the same way, over and over, until people ‘get it’ and begin to run with it themselves. The guys we are training are leaders on the frontier of making that happen in our nation and that is no overstatement. There are still thousands of churches in our nation that have not even begun to ask the right questions about what is wrong with the church, let alone begun to search for the answers. There is still massive scope for Learning Communities.

Those currently on Frontier Leaders Training are Andy Strajnic, Phil Stokes, Nic Bradshaw and Richard Glazier.”

  9. Discipleship That Works – Workshop in Harrogate

The Kx North Yorkshire hub are hosting another discipleship and mission workshop this September and they’d love you to join them.

We’re convinced that all Christians are invited to live as a disciple in every part of their lives, not just on Sundays in a church service. We will explore ideas about how to live as disciples in our neighbourhoods, schools, workplaces, families and communities.

We’re called to live one whole life where Jesus is Lord of every part, being people who are good news to those around us. There’s an adventure to be had and a story to be part of and we want to share that with you too!

More details on speakers and workshops coming soon. Lunch is included.

Please register your place on www.discipleshipthatworks.eventbrite.co.uk.  Payment will be taken on the door.
