  2. Grow Central Learning Community: Gathering 1

Grow Central is the Kairos Connexion regional hub located in the Midlands.  They are hosting a Learning Community which starts in October 2017 and you are invited to take part.

Gathering One: Building a Discipling Culture

This Gathering covers the key principles, values and learning points that help to create and establish a strong culture of missional discipleship. We will look at how shared culture, mind-set and key values (covenant and kingdom, invitation and challenge) can help people take personal responsibility for their own discipleship and begin to live out their identity, faith, missional vision and call.

We will send out a detailed programme nearer to the time but below are the start and finish times.

    • Family dinner on day one (Tuesday 10th October) will be from 6:00pm, giving us an opportunity to connect and be together.
    • On days two and three (Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th) coffee will be available from 8.45am and we will begin at 9am sharp with worship and prayer.
    • We will finish each day by 4:30pm.

We hope you will join us on this journey.

  3. Discipleship That Works – Workshop in Harrogate

The Kx North Yorkshire hub are hosting another discipleship and mission workshop this September and they’d love you to join them.

We’re convinced that all Christians are invited to live as a disciple in every part of their lives, not just on Sundays in a church service. We will explore ideas about how to live as disciples in our neighbourhoods, schools, workplaces, families and communities.

We’re called to live one whole life where Jesus is Lord of every part, being people who are good news to those around us. There’s an adventure to be had and a story to be part of and we want to share that with you too!

More details on speakers and workshops coming soon. Lunch is included.

Please register your place on www.discipleshipthatworks.eventbrite.co.uk.  Payment will be taken on the door.

  4. Learning Community Taster Day – COVENTRY

This is a Taster Day workshop for church leaders and their teams who are exploring a discipleship & mission Learning Community starting in the Autumn of 2017.

Booking details here www.growcentral.eventbrite.co.uk, or to be added to the Grow Central mailing list (the name of the Kx Coventry Hub) email mikeknight@westwoodchurch.co.uk

IMG-20160521-WA0002A Learning Community Taster Day is a workshop designed to give a feel for what a full Learning Community is like.  You will be introduced to the basic structure of a Learning Community which is to aid reflection, learning, dreaming and planning for your church or community.

The three questions which are asked are:

    • What Is? (an honest reflection of where things are right now)
    • What Could Be? (an opportunity to dream big dreams with God about the future)
    • What Will Be? (making concrete goals and plans to move towards the big dreams)

Many church teams have found this process to be incredibly valuable in moving towards embedding a culture of discipleship and mission in their contexts.

  5. Discipleship & Mission Workshop – WATFORD

What’s the problem with mission and discipleship?

IMG_9348We find ourselves as church leaders in an increasingly complex and frustrating landscape when it comes to mission and discipleship.  So what’s the problem? Why are we struggling? What is God saying to the church today? How did Jesus fulfill his heavenly mandate to ‘seek and save that which was lost’, and raise a bunch of world-changing disciple-makers?
These are some of the questions we will be exploring in our workshop on 25th Feb 2017 where we’ll have a mixture of teaching, personal reflection time, small group discussion (with the team you bring with you), question and answer, prayer, and planning for the future.

WHY NOT STAY FOR DISCUSSION OVER LUNCH? Bring a packed lunch or grab a takeaway (loads very nearby!) and make the most of the morning. We will have the room until 2pm.
