If you are interested in building communities centered around the gospel then this will be a fantastic day for you.

We look forward to seeing you then!

  4. Living on the Frontline

One of the things the Kairos Connexion development team are up to is creating tools and new forms of training to help churches become able to live as the church was always intended to be – full of power and authority, vibrant communities, sharing the good news of Jesus to those we find ourselves living and working amongst. Over the next year we will be offering those to the Kx family and beyond.

One of the first of those is a new and updated edition of Nic Harding’s book on spiritual warfare entitled ‘Living on the Frontline: A beginner’s guide to spiritual warfare.’

‘This second expanded edition of Living on the Frontline incorporates further teaching on prayer and the use of corporate weapons of warfare. This beginner’s guide to spiritual warfare is essential for any Christian who wants to work together with Jesus and his church to ultimately deliver the deathblow to the enemy. This updated edition of Living on the Frontline was developed in response to an unprecedented level of attacks on key leaders and churches, especially in the areas of false accusation, marriage pressures, illness and premature death. It will help to equip individual Christians and churches to defend themselves more effectively and enforce the victory of the cross in their situations.’

The book will be available to buy at the official launch at our Leaders Day on Wednesday 22nd November or you can order it from Amazon here.  We highly recommend it to you!

  5. Training at the Frontier in Tunbridge Wells

One of the training options that we offer to churches is our Learning Communities.  These are generally 4 immersions spaced out over 2 years and are an intensive way of getting teaching, process time and strategic planning for church leaders and their teams. The Tunbridge Wells Learning Community have just finished their 3rd immersion and Sean Dooley sent us this story about how they’ve been raising other leaders up to run LCs themselves.

“One of the great things about the Tunbridge Wells LC is that it has been the vehicle for Frontier Leader Training. We are clearly modelling to all the participants on the LC the taking of LC leaders around the discipleship square (see diagram). We deliberately point out to the participants on the LC that, for example, ‘Andy Strajnic is now doing L3 as a LC leader on this third immersion. Please encourage and support him.’

We call it Frontier Leader Training because we are taking a select group of people who have not only internalised missional discipleship, but are living it and have the anointing to coach others in it. Our hope is that they will be the guys that will develop missional discipleship training for other church leaders in their relational networks, using the 3DM material. In other words, that they would be leaders on the frontier of training church leaders in mission and discipleship. In turn doing what I have done with them – training other Frontier Leaders. In fact, Phil Stokes is doing that as I write!

I spoke to Paul Maconochie (Director of 3DM USA) recently and he reminded me that getting a movement going requires doing the same things, in the same way, over and over, until people ‘get it’ and begin to run with it themselves. The guys we are training are leaders on the frontier of making that happen in our nation and that is no overstatement. There are still thousands of churches in our nation that have not even begun to ask the right questions about what is wrong with the church, let alone begun to search for the answers. There is still massive scope for Learning Communities.

Those currently on Frontier Leaders Training are Andy Strajnic, Phil Stokes, Nic Bradshaw and Richard Glazier.”

  7. Discipleship That Works – Workshop in Harrogate

The Kx North Yorkshire hub are hosting another discipleship and mission workshop this September and they’d love you to join them.

We’re convinced that all Christians are invited to live as a disciple in every part of their lives, not just on Sundays in a church service. We will explore ideas about how to live as disciples in our neighbourhoods, schools, workplaces, families and communities.

We’re called to live one whole life where Jesus is Lord of every part, being people who are good news to those around us. There’s an adventure to be had and a story to be part of and we want to share that with you too!

More details on speakers and workshops coming soon. Lunch is included.

Please register your place on www.discipleshipthatworks.eventbrite.co.uk.  Payment will be taken on the door.

  8. Learning Community Taster Day – COVENTRY

This is a Taster Day workshop for church leaders and their teams who are exploring a discipleship & mission Learning Community starting in the Autumn of 2017.

Booking details here www.growcentral.eventbrite.co.uk, or to be added to the Grow Central mailing list (the name of the Kx Coventry Hub) email mikeknight@westwoodchurch.co.uk

IMG-20160521-WA0002A Learning Community Taster Day is a workshop designed to give a feel for what a full Learning Community is like.  You will be introduced to the basic structure of a Learning Community which is to aid reflection, learning, dreaming and planning for your church or community.

The three questions which are asked are:

    • What Is? (an honest reflection of where things are right now)
    • What Could Be? (an opportunity to dream big dreams with God about the future)
    • What Will Be? (making concrete goals and plans to move towards the big dreams)

Many church teams have found this process to be incredibly valuable in moving towards embedding a culture of discipleship and mission in their contexts.

  9. Discipleship & Mission Workshop – WATFORD

What’s the problem with mission and discipleship?

IMG_9348We find ourselves as church leaders in an increasingly complex and frustrating landscape when it comes to mission and discipleship.  So what’s the problem? Why are we struggling? What is God saying to the church today? How did Jesus fulfill his heavenly mandate to ‘seek and save that which was lost’, and raise a bunch of world-changing disciple-makers?
These are some of the questions we will be exploring in our workshop on 25th Feb 2017 where we’ll have a mixture of teaching, personal reflection time, small group discussion (with the team you bring with you), question and answer, prayer, and planning for the future.
Remember… ‘The definition of insanity is doing the same thing but expecting different results.’ Einstein

WHY NOT STAY FOR DISCUSSION OVER LUNCH? Bring a packed lunch or grab a takeaway (loads very nearby!) and make the most of the morning. We will have the room until 2pm.

  10. Kx Leaders Day – Raising Younger Leaders

We are inviting you join us for a day of connecting and unpacking the topic of “Raising Younger Leaders”.

leaders-day-2017-updated-graphicWe will be joined by Ruth Perrin. Ruth has been involved in ministry and training with young adults for 20 years. She is associate staff at King’s Church Durham and regularly preaches and teaches in local and national settings. Her publications include: ‘Inspiring Women, Discovering Biblical Role Models’  and ‘Searching for Sisters’ (In The Faith Lives of Women and Girls). She writes www.cloudofwitnesses.org.uk (free bible study resources) and is about to launch www.discipleshipresearch.com to make research findings easily accessible to busy church leaders. Her guilty pleasure is Netflix box sets!

The day will be hosted by Nic Harding and the KX team and the day will also include times of worship, input, prayer ministry, refreshments and lunch. It will be a chance to connect with your Kx family and meet some new faces too and we may even have a trick or two up our sleeve.
